Where it all began
In the late summer of 1971 I found my self swimming around in a very dark and tiny aquarium. Over time I seemed to be out growing my little fish bowl. On August 15th sometime early in the morning, my aquarium sprang a leak and all of the water rushed out. My aqurium begin to squeeze me until finally I was forced out with the water right out of the crack. "WTH?? It's cold out here and bright, and very scary. Why are all of these aliens touching me? I didn't take the bait, and yet, here I am!! Help!!, Somebody!!, Throw me back in the water!!!" Shortly after 8am that morning I was born Christoper Michael Doran in the City of New Orleans, a place I would later learn was just a larger aquarium, a sort of fish bowl in it's own right. More to follow soon...
Should Have Been Born Fish
From the mud puddles of Grandma's front lawn after a summer rain to mighty oceans that cover the earth, my life always seems to be tied to the water in some way shape or form. It has given me so much, and yet has taken so much away. I have served our country by way of the world's oceans, fed my family from Louisiana's lakes, rivers, and swamps, and now ply my trade on many of the world's rivers and waterways. The following entries document the way the water and I have journeyed thru life.
